Journaling

Human beings are uniquely created to be able to communicate their thoughts and emotions in language. Expressing that language with letters or other markings can be traced back thousands of years. It would seem that there has always been something within us that recognizes the value of recording our experiences.

In this column, we will talk about different types of journaling, the how-to’s of the various types of journaling, and the potential benefits of each type of journaling.

We hope you will take this journey with us.

Before you begin, choose a journal that fits who you are and what this journal represents for you.

  • Choices range from a simple spiral notebook to an embossed leather journal. The type of journal that you choose should be of a style or a design that motivates you to use it according to its purpose.
  • Every journal is as unique as its owner.
  • You may also choose the writing utensil that feels best to you, so that you can write smoothly and easily.

With all types of journaling, you are encouraged to make your entries in your own handwritten notes. Studies have shown that we engage more of our brain, process more of the content, and recall more of the information when we write things by hand, rather than by dictation or using a keyboard.

Let’s do this! Now lets talk about Bullet Journaling.
